Well I'd have to say my favorite go to lure is a jig of 3/8 to 1 1/2oz. depending on water depth and current.  A jig gives you the ability to cover large amounts of water fast and quickly locates the snook's feeding stations, and the fact that jigs and a single hook lure makes it so much easier to remove them quickly with minimal damage to the snook.

Live Pinfish.  Most anglers would probably reply palm size Scaled Sardines or as many refer to them as Greenbacks or white bait.  I prefer Pinfish simply because they are extremely hearty and can almost live in a bucket of mud if you aerate it.  They are silver, flashy, run to the bottom, thumpin', bumpin' freakin' out on the end of your line, followed up by the one thump bump when the Snook smashes them.  Many anglers and guides that I've spoken with prefer the white baits, but as I do a large percentage of my snook fishing under the cover of darkness, pinfish just seem to have always worked better around the areas the snook hang out at night.

Well for many years all we had was mono filament or that horrible stuff called Dacron that would cut like butter when it encountered any sharp barnacle encrusted objects  But I'd have to say with the advent of braided line I haven't looked back.  Braided line's sensitivity, strength, it's thinner diameter and low stretch I think has been one of the best inventions that has increased the percentage of snook landed that has come along in my lifetime.
